About LIS
A school built on attention, not assembly lines
Since 2009 we have taught Zanzibari children to read widely, reason clearly and take responsibility for the person next to them. Today our Kisakasaka campus brings together our NECTA National Wing and our Cambridge International Wing under one caring roof.
Our mission
To give every learner an excellent, accessible and values-based education in Kisakasaka — taught in small classes across NECTA and Cambridge streams, measured honestly, and open to families of every background on Zanzibar.
Our vision
A generation of Zanzibari leaders who are fluent in science, languages, and their own culture, leaving primary school with the confidence to excel anywhere in the world.
Our promise
No child slips through unnoticed. Every pupil has a dedicated class teacher, a term-by-term learning plan, warm meals on campus, and daily character guidance.
Since 2009

What we stand for
Six values, not a poster on a wall
They appear in our report comments, our disciplinary conversations and the way teachers are appraised.
Integrity
We tell students the truth about their work, and we tell parents the truth about theirs.
Excellence
Marks are not the only goal, but high standards are how character and curiosity are built.
Global-mindedness
NECTA and Cambridge curricula side by side; Swahili, English and Arabic on the same shelf.
Compassion
Daily Madrasa, moral reflection, and community care projects in our surrounding wards.
Respect & safety
A signed safeguarding policy, zero tolerance for bullying, and pastoral care on staff.
Community
Parents are partners, not customers. Our doors are open every week for parent conversations.
Leadership
Leadership team
Four people you will actually meet. Every one of them still teaches.
